About This Game

A cargo airplane crashed somewhere in the vast areas of the Amita mountain range. It was carrying a large shipment of beagles headed to the CutLab, a huge animal testing facility. The lab is upset about losing its precious testing material and is deploying a biohazard division determined to reclaim its "property". They operate under strict orders: seize usable specimens, dispose of the rest! We are sending our elite animal rescue squad to save as many dogs as possible before the lab's grunts confine them back to the life of endless misery. Go!

Rescue: The Beagles is a challenging platformer/runner with unique parallax based gameplay. The game offers core gaming experience focused on score attacks and reaching high levels, paying homage to classic 8-bit era arcades. Play as Nicole or Edwin and rescue as many adorable doggies as possible. Overcome treacherous mountain terrain by parkouring, roping and parachuting in an intense, fast paced chase through colorful procedurally generated levels. Command owls and wield them as a weapon against a horde of biohazard dudes, vivisectors, lab executives and more. Upgrade your skills and consume wild goji berries to gain superpowers!

WARNING! The player can perish by falling from heights. It may happen a lot to rookies but resolute rescuers will prevail. You have been warned!

Trivia

• The initial Rescue: The Beagles prototype was created way back in 2008 for a prominent game jam. It was built from scratch in only two weeks. The Beagles won the jam, amongst hundreds of entries!
  
• The game's story was inspired by real events. An actual beagle abuse incident took place at a veterinary institute in developer's hometown. The news about it hit the front pages and caused public outrage. Near that time the developer was regularly hiking the Alps. On one such hike, a discussion about beagles took place. This created an unlikely fusion of beagles and mountain peaks and thus the game idea was born.
